Adolph Scherrer

The Independent Turnverein chose one of the most prominent German-American architects in the city to build their center. Adolph Scherrer was a Swiss-German who came to America in 1870 and found his way to Indianapolis by 1873. His most famous work is the state capitol building, which he helped finish as his mentor Edwin May died before it could be completed. Scherrer’s sons joined and continued his business as Adolf Scherrer and Sons. | Source: Find a Grave
