A painting of the Shawnee Chief Tecumseh, painted based on a 1868 engraving by Benson Lossing. He was the chief opponent to U.S. expansion at the time of the treaty. The Treaty of Fort Wayne became a major point of anger for Tecumseh due to its cessions of Native lands without consent of all parties.
