Old Vigo County Jail

The brick structure at 34 Ohio Street is the fourth jail built in Terre Haute, and typically houses individuals awaiting trial. It was expanded and upgraded in 1908-09 and again in 1961. It was auctioned off in 1994. Terre Haute currently awaits a new jail, in response to unsatisfactory and overcrowded conditions.
