Standing at the Memorial Wall and overlooking the Memorial Grounds, is this 6’2”, 1,200 pound bronze sculpture of an infantryman going into battle. The statue was created in 1992 by Alexis Lavar, sculptor and daughter of former Post Commander Colonel Richard King for the dedication of the Veterans Memorial.
