Abner Hanks is related to President Abraham Lincoln since his father John is a cousin to Lincoln’s mother Nancy Hanks, though her specific family history is disputed. Also of interest is that Abner and his first wife Mary Dale are the great-great-great-great grandparents of actor Tom Hanks, making Tom a third cousin four times removed of Abraham Lincoln. | Creator: Linda S.
