Pittsburgh Plate Glass in 1920

Pittsburgh Plate Glass was still making glass in Kokomo at the time of this photograph, but discontinued those operations in 1930. This image was made during a 1920 expansion, when PPG was the community’s largest employer. A series of fires that began shortly after Diamond Plate Glass opened, followed by PPG construction, gradually removed all traces of the original 1889 factory.
